They met Ence in the grand final, but after taking down many big names the Danish side continued their dominance in CS:GO.

Last year was undoubtedly the year of Astralis when it came to CS:GO esports, and if this last Major competition at the Intel Extreme Masters event in Katowice is anything to go by, this year might be the same, as the Danish team lifted the title after performing well throughout.

In the New Legends stage Astralis won all three matches alongside Team Liquid to sit at the top of the table, with a +45 round difference too. New Champions stage was when things really heated up though, as this was the knockout stage, seeing Astralis take down Ninjas in Pyjamas and MIBR 2-0 each to seal their place in the final.

Surprisingly, however, Ence were their partners in the grand final, who had a great run at the Major to shock everyone. They might have got a 3-2 record in the New Legends stage, but they went on to beat Team Liquid 2-0 and NaVi 2-1, NaVi being the finalists of the last Major in September of 2018.

The fairytale story wasn't to be though, as Astralis made it 2-0 again with a 16-11 win on Train and a 16-4 win on Inferno, earning $500,000 USD in the process and making them back-to-back Major winners.

Can Astralis continue to dominate 2019?
