Berserk and the Band of the Hawk is being developed by Omega Force and when we talked to Producer Hisashi Koinuma and Director Dai Kawai at the Tokyo Game Show Kawai shed some more light on the boss battles in the game.

"So in terms of the boss battles, a lot of them will largely follow against the Apostles in the original source material," Kawai said. "For example there is Zodd who you will fight against and he is an extremely strong character so you'll be able to feel the force of his strength in these boss battles. And within the TGS demo we've got the ogres, or the trolls, as you mentioned, and they'll throw their weapons at you. So we've basically followed the types of attacks they would perform within the comics or the animes and we basically used those, represented those as well. So definitely compared to other Musou games that have boss battles, you'll be able to really feel the difficulty level and the challenges of battling these bosses in this game."

Koinuma also chipped in regarding the Dragonslayer weapon and how it feels in the game. "So definitely from the manga creator they really wanted to make sure that motions and the movement of it is real and it relatively stays true to the actual manga itself. So definitely we want to make sure we put the weight into it, but at the same time we also wanted to add some addition actions, so because it is a game you want a little bit of, not exactly exaggerated, but you want that little bit of overaction in it as well. So within the TGS demo we've made it so you can really feel the weight of the sword, his actions are a little bit slower, his movement is also a little bit slower, but as you progress through the game, as Guts himself becomes stronger, then he also moves a little bit faster, he can wield the sword a little bit easier, so you'll be able to see that".

Berserk is out on PC, PS4 and PS Vita on February 24 2017. What are your thoughts on the boss battles of the game, as well as the combat?
