CD Projekt in trouble after not selling Devotion on GOG after all

The company was reminded that having a game calling China's president Winnie the Pooh isn't a good idea, so it has changed its mind.

Earlier today, the folks over at Red Candle Games announced that the controversial Devotion would make its way to GOG on December 18 after being delisted from Steam last year because of a less than flattering reference to China's president, Xi Jinping. Well, here's a déjà vu for you.

Because CD Projekt, who owns GOG, has announced that Devotion won't be released on GOG after all due to "receiving many messages from gamers". Well, judging by the amount of people sharing their outrage about this decision in the replies, you'd might say that quite a few don't buy that explanation, and rather think that this is another case of a company being afraid of angering the Chinese government and potentially losing investments and such from some of the biggest investors in the world.

Even some game publishers have shared their thoughts on the matter, including Glass Bottom Games founder Megan Fox who says that the planned release of Skatebird on GOG won't happen after all because of this decision.

As if CD Projekt isn't getting enough backlash these days because of Cyberpunk 2077's technological shortcomings...
