It would seem that the Pokémon franchise's popularity is constantly increasing, and so despite tons of huge titles being available on the market and recently released, Pokémon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon reigns supreme in Japan.

The latest sales numbers from Media Create has landed (via ResetEra), and they can reveal, that the game managed to sell an additional 168,978 copies last week, bringing the latest entry in the franchise to 836,417 copies sold in Japan alone. Super Mario Odyssey managed to shift 77,751 copies, a growth of 25% over last week, and that's mainly due to several promotions. The game has now managed to sell 792,059 copies in its native Japan.

There's even better news for the Nintendo Switch, as 145,200 units were sold just last week a big increase, bringing the console to 2.4 million sold consoles in Japan to date.
