Dead Rising is getting a big change in the upcoming fourth game. Capcom Vancouver's studio head Joe Nickolls said in an interview that Dead Rising 4 will leave time limits behind. The feature has always been divisive among gamers and perhaps this was the right opportunity to make a change.
"We did a ton of user research on it, and the majority of the people said they didn't really love the timer -- they wanted to explore. There's so much hidden side content that when we did it with a timer, people were just getting pissed off because they couldn't finish half of what they wanted to finish," explained Nickolls.
Dead Rising 4's focus is more on the exploration than ever before, and therefore limiting the time wouldn't make sense. Capcom's crazy zombie adventure is set to release on Windows 10 PC and Xbox One in December.
