Starting from July 29, Disney Interactive has started to shut down the online services and servers of its popular franchise, Disney Infinity, which was officially confirmed last May.

Over the next eight months the company will remove all the in-game purchases from the various games in the series, and it will also shut down community support and online features. As a result of this closure, some versions of Disney Infinity will be removed from various online stores and they'll no longer be playable starting from September.

Last Friday Disney has removed in-game purchases on the PC version of Disney Infinity 2.0, as well as from the Android, Apple TV and iOS versions of the game.

Disney says that the console versions of Disney Infinity ""will continue to operate as usual with full access to figures and play sets only with the exception of community content features and online multiplayer."

Players will still be able to upload and download Toy Box creations until September 30, when the original Disney Infinity won't be playable on PC, iOS, Android and Amazon Fire any more. Disney Infinity 2.0 and 3.0 will continue to be playable on PC, even if all the online and community features are deactivated.

On January 3, 2017, the Windows 8 and 10 versions will also be deleted from online stores and no in-game purchases will be possible. Then, on March 3, these versions, along with the Apple TV version, will no longer be playable, and this will be the final date on which all other online functionality and community support will be disabled.
