The latest season of the Rainbow Six: Siege European League has officially come to a close, following the finals of the season taking place over the last two weekends. Boasting a €100,000 prize pool and featuring four of the best teams from around the region, last weekend saw the semi-finals take place, with this past weekend marking the finals and the third place match.
The third place match saw G2 Esports take on Natus Vincere, with NA'VI ultimately taking the series 2-1 as well as €15,000 for the result to boot. This then led into the actual grand finals, which pitted Team BDS against Team Empire, for a series that saw BDS blow out Empire in a swift 3-0 fashion, with BDS winning each game 7-3, 7-0, and 7-2. This victory has solidified Team BDS as the top team in Europe for the time being and also rewarded the French esports organisation with €50,000 in prize money to mark the result.
With this game behind us and the 2021 European League wrapped up, the next major event in the competitive Siege calendar will be the Six Invitational 2022, an event that will see Team BDS and Team Empire both attending and looking to stake their claim on the lion's share of its far larger prize pool.
