Hiroshi Yamauchi was the strongwilled president who tranformed Nintendo from a playing card manufacturer to a worldwide video game giant. Taking reign of Nintendo in 1949 and ruling it with an iron fist until stepping down in 2002 (with Saturo Iwata taking over), Hiroshi Yamauchi was one of the Japan's wealthiest at the time of his passing.

He will be remembered as much for his accomplishments and leadership as his outrageous and drastic statements and policies. Rest in peace, Hiroshi Yamauchi.
