Sent to die after years in development and tens of millions in venture capital. The story of APB is a sad one. Real Time Worlds ran out of time and money, but unfortunately their product was no way near good enough to claw back enough cash to sustain their swollen organisation. The promising concept and Dave Jones' persona convinced investors that APB was the next big thing, but somewhere during its many years in development Real Time Worlds took a wrong turn or two. Perhaps the big piles of cash was a distraction, a 3D Realm-esque curse that caused the developer to stray from the path. Now we'll never see the full potential of APB realised and that's what's most sad in all of this.
