I lost faith in Lara a long, long time ago. Perhaps it was when I tried to negotiate the dull environments of Angel of Darkness with a hopelessly outdated and stiff Miss Croft. Sure, Crystal Dynamics changed things for the better, but I just didn't see the appeal of the ageing icon. That is until she dropped the Tomb Raider brand, the retail box, and gave us a brand new perspective on things, that she had me excited again. Not only is Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light a brilliant co-operative game, but it also plays splendidly well in single player mode.
