Konami has announced that Gareth Bale, formerly at Tottenham and currently at Real Madrid, was chosen as cover athlete of the UEFA Euro 2016 video game. Those who buy the standalone version of the game "will also have a chance of obtaining Bale via the bonus content for myClub", a Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 game mode where players can be bought via micro-transactions.

In truth, the official UEFA Euro 2016 "game" is in fact an extra mode for Pro Evolution Soccer 2016, and when you buy it, you will actually be buying PES 2016 along with some extras. In the physical version of the game, these extras include "exclusive myClub rewards, including access to a special Ambassador Agent, seven special Euro agents giving them seven players representing the 24 qualified teams, and 10,000GP each week for 10 weeks."

While the boxed game hits stores on April 21, players who already have PES 2016 can download the UEFA Euro 2016 update for free, starting on March 24.
