The second day of the Smite World Championship has concluded and to get you up to speed with all the happenings, we've condensed all that occurred over the course of yesterday's games.

To start with, was the third placements match between Spacestation Gaming and tier-2 Challenger roster Mind The Gap. Considering this was a Smite Pro League (SPL) team facing a non-SPL roster, the game was a little closer in each individual match, however that didn't stop SSG from wrapping up the series in a quick 3-0 fashion, securing the first spot in the second quarterfinal along the way.

The second placement match of the day pitted Pittsburgh Knights up against Eunited in an equally close game (as you would expect from two SPL teams facing off). Across the series that became quite lengthy in each individual game, the Knights ended up knocking Eunited out of the running 3-0, securing the Knights the final quarterfinals slot and keeping their hopes of consecutive Worlds wins alive.

This does mean that the next slate of games are locked in place now. The quarterfinals, set to take place on Friday (because today marks the Hi-Rez Showcase) will see Renegades take on Sanguine at 5:45PM GMT / 6:45 PM CET, before Spacestation Gaming face Pittsburgh Knights at 9:30PM GMT / 10:30PM CET. To make sure you don't miss any of this action, be sure to head over to the Smite Twitch channel over here to catch the games.

REVIEW. Written by Johannes Leander

"Despite the cool Gods at war theme, balancing issues and clumsy matchmaking present too much of a hindrance for us to truly enjoy this MOBA title."
