So what are the biggest changes in this year's edition?

"Three things that really combine to have a profound effect on the game in terms of responsiveness, fluidity, feeling the game. So we've completely rewritten our dribbling system, the way the player dribble with the ball, we've been looking at the sort of footedness of the player. Messi for instance left-footed player, Gareth Bale, you'll see them dribbling much more sort of left-sided. But the way they run, the way they actually control the ball has been completely rewritten. We've also worked heavily on our locomotion, at the agility of the turns, the responsiveness, the quickness of the turns. Which helps both with the ball and without the ball."

"And also we've completely reworked our ball physics. Sort of on the ground. So literally every ball touch is now different and really feels really, really good. And those three things combined make the game feel incredibly responsive, has great fluidity, great feeling of control."

While EA Sports have focused a lot on talking about the features of the new-gen versions of the game where does that leave the versions on older consoles?

"We're doing a lot of innovation, a lot of the feeling and the things we talked about in gameplay will be on Gen-3 consoles, but ultimately we don't want to limit ourselves. We've got a lot more power, a lot more horse power, a lot more memory on the new consoles. We want to create and innovate as much as we can there as well, but we've created a really good game on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 as well."

Channon did however not want to go into detailing any of the specifics features that won't make it on to PS3 and Xbox 360.

The interview also covered FIFA Ultimate Team and the new loan feature as well as the changes to Match Day.

REVIEW. Written by Mike Holmes

"FIFA 15 is a good game, make no mistake, it's just not a great game; it looks like we're going to have to wait at least another year for that."
