Konami have been known in the past to turn their game franchises into pachinko machines, which are an extremely popular form of gambling in Japan. Both Castlevania and Silent Hill have been getting pachinko machines.
Now it's Metal Gear Solid turn, with Konami announcing Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater, the pachinko game via a Youtube video. Many other Japanese companies have done this before, sometimes teasing a big announcement just for it to be a new pachinko machine. Seeing the graphics, we had hoped it would be a proper Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, but alas, we were wrong.
The announcement of a Metal Gear Solid themed pachinko doesn't come as much of a surprise, thanks to their past record and the fact they filed a trademark last year for the cabinet.
