Assetto Corsa is one of the very best and most satisfying racing sims available on the PC market, while lately the console version has been improving and growing in terms of content. Publisher 505 Games and developer Kunos Simulazioni announced last week that both PS4 and Xbox One are getting an Ultimate Edition of the game come April 20, complete with 178 cars and 16 tracks (with 33 variations), and we know that it'll be released at a reduced price. It seems like the Italian studio is indeed wrapping things up with regards to the first game, but what does that mean for the series?

Here's the thing: AC's official website has been running a countdown to some sort of announcement that will happen today, February 21, at 2pm GMT / 3pm CET. Other than that, the publisher has been teasing press with "good news" and asking us to save the date.

Given the original game's success, it'd be fairly safe to bet that the time has come for Assetto Corsa 2, as we can't think of any other reveal they'd want to hype in this way. Or can you come up with anything else that's equally convincing? And what would you expect from a potential sequel?

"It's hard to find the superlatives to describe the feeling you get when sliding around a tight corner with the tire smoke forming an impressive tail behind you."
