Riot has dished out the details on the 2021 League of Legends World Championship, revealing that the premier esports event smashed a bunch of the records that the 2020 Worlds set.

Detailed in a blog post, Riot has stated that the 2021 World Championship Finals saw a peak concurrent viewer count number of 73,860,742, which is a 60.33% increase on the same stat from the 2020 event. On top of this, Riot also noted that the Finals had an average minute audience of 30,604,255, which itself was a 32.82% jump on 2020.

In terms of the full Worlds 2021 run, the event also was claimed to have been watched for 1,084,991,999 total hours, with Riot touching on the statistic saying, "We couldn't be more humbled by your support".

We'll have to see whether the 2022 World Championship can continue this trend of smashing records when it takes place next autumn.
