Perhaps the biggest story coming out of the ESL One Cologne CS:GO competition this past week has been German team BIG's surprisingly successful run all the way to the grand final, but it wasn't to be for the side, who lost out to NaVi as they lifted the trophy yesterday.

From the start BIG thoroughly impressed, beating the likes of Team Liquid, Renegades, and newly formed roster MIBR in the group stages (despite a loss to Fnatic), taking that into the playoffs as they took down G2 Esports and FaZe Clan as well.

NaVi impressed too, but like BIG didn't have a flawless run, losing an early game to G2 Esports as well. Saying that, they did defeat Cloud9, Gambit, Fnatic, and Astralis to pave their way to the finals, before winning the final match 3-1 to earn $125,000 USD and add to their trophy cabinet.
