After Ed Boon, co-creator of the Mortal Kombat series, teased an upcoming reveal about Mortal Kombat X on his Twitter account last night, publisher Warner have now officially announced that Netherrealm Studios is working on new DLC for the latest installment of the brutal fighting saga. In particular, as you can probably deduce from the image below, it seems that the new content involves four new playable characters, new skins and new game environments. At the moment, a specific launch date has yet to be announced, but it has been confirmed that it will land sometime in the first half of 2016.
Mortal Kombat X has been available since April on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Recently, Warner Bros. confirmed the cancellation of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, because the studio responsible for porting the game "were not able to get the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to the quality expected of a Mortal Kombat game".
