No plans "whatsoever" for a Rainbow Six: Siege sequel

Operation Health is Ubisoft's drive to improve and refine the state of Rainbow Six: Siege, with the tactical shooter becoming increasingly popular as it gets older.

We spoke to brand manager Alexandre Remy about this extended health check (you can read what he had to say here), and one of the questions we asked was in regards to the longevity of the game.

"Longevity is the key aspect for us," Remy told us. "The direction is to keep the game established for a long, long period of time. We're talking years. Five years, maybe more, clearly.

"We know in terms of creative direction, content, operators, maps, it's not the lack or shortage of ideas [...] that we want to see, want to develop. As long as the community is strong, supporting us and there are people playing Rainbow Six: Siege, I don't see any reason why we should stop. There are no sequel plans whatsoever, for the moment."

Rainbow Six: Siege was always built with long-term development in mind, and the upcoming plans surrounding year two already indicated that a sequel wasn't on the immediate horizon. However, now we know that, for now at least, there are no plans for a sequel "whatsoever", and that they intend to support the game for "five years, maybe more".
