Double Fine was present at Xbox's E3 press conference to show off a little more of Psychonauts 2 and reveal that they'd joined as an Xbox Game Studio, and in a recent update post on Fig the team has shared the news that the game is being slightly delayed, meaning it'll no longer release this year as planned.

"We're now targeting next year for release," the post reads. "We know it's always disappointing when you have to wait a bit longer, but we also know that you are an amazing, supportive bunch, who - just like us - want the game to be as good as possible. So we're hopeful you'll understand!"

Despite the game being published by Microsoft, Double Fine also emphasises in this post that the game will still be honored for every platform already promised on Fig, including PlayStation 4.

The studio also talks about Rad in this post, coming from Lee Petty to PC and consoles on August 20. If you pre-order the game you get some special loot, and when we talked to Petty ourselves at E3 he told us that you won't get to "pick your mutations" in the game.

Are you disappointed with the delay of Psychonauts 2?
