There had been rumblings about the game in the run-up to E3, and now it's official after Ubisoft announced Rainbow Six: Quarantine, a new co-op shooter that looks like it builds on the Outbreak mode that was temporarily added to Rainbow Six: Siege in March of last year.
Lead developer Bio Jade Adam Granger then took to the stage to confirm that a new team had been formed to build an all-new cooperative game based in the Rainbow Six universe: "What Siege was to the PvP genre, we will be to PvE co-op," the game's lead developer told the audience in LA.
In the new game, players will team up to fight off a "devastating" parasite, however, we didn't get more concrete details, such as a firm release date, so for now we're going to have to wait and see what Ubisoft has in store for the next game in the Rainbow Six series.
