Following a hectic few weeks of competition, the second split of the Apex Legends Global Series has officially come to a close. The third and final day of the Playoffs, which were being held in Sweden, concluded on Sunday, and to this end we now have a victor.
Surprisingly, it is Reignite who has taken home the tournament and been awarded with the hefty $250,000 cash prize. It's a surprising development as going into the finals day, it was the likes of Cloud9, OpTic Gaming, 100 Thieves, and Team Liquid that were likely expected to be playing for the victory due to their dominant showings during the Winner's Bracket and the previous rounds.
Regardless, it was Reignite that ended up on top, after a stellar day where the team racked up 78 total points, putting them nine points clear of the second place Team Liquid. As mentioned above, this victory has seen the team awarded with $250,000, and also a boatload of Playoff Points, which are crucial for securing a spot in the premier Apex Legends Global Series Championship at the end of the season.
