About a week ago Casey Hudson updated his blog to talk about what Bioware had been doing that month, as well as what the studio was planning for the coming month. Of course, the majority of the post was dedicated to Anthem, but in a paragraph closer to the end he wrote:

"If you've been following these blogs, or myself and Mark Darrah on Twitter, you know we're also working on some secret Dragon Age stuff. Dragon Age is an incredibly important franchise in our studio, and we're excited to continue its legacy. Look for more on this in the coming month (though I won't tell you where to look...)"

We assumed they would be showing us this secret Dragon Age stuff at The Game Awards, and now a report from VentureBeat has supported this assumption. Casey Hudson has confirmed that he's attending the event and will be showing something new from Anthem, but according to this report that's not the only game he will be showing off, as he'll likely be revealing Dragon Age 4 at the event.

Now, don't hold your breath and shiver with anticipation just yet, because if the report is accurate, the game won't be released until 2021. It's still super early in the production phase, and development has been put on hold so that Bioware and EA can focus on shipping Anthem. What's more is that sources close to the project say it's at least three years away, although that timeline could change.

Are you prepared to wait until 2021 for a new Dragon Age game?
