A recent report has surfaced revealing the organisation that will likely next be in line to join the Call of Duty League. The final slot, which was previously held by the Chicago Huntsmen before they became OpTic Chicago last season, and now remains unnamed thanks to OpTic joining Team Envy, with that organisation taking over the CDL slot, has been up for sale for a while, and it was even suggested for a period that the steep purchasing price would've seen the 2022 season operating with 11 teams instead of 12. However, that no longer seems to be the case.
The Sports Business Journal has reported that the Kraft Sports Group, the organisation who owns the Boston Uprising Overwatch League team, is set to claim the slot. It was also noted that the Kraft Sports Group will be partnering with Oxygen Esports to run the team.
There was no mention of any financial details regarding the sale, or likewise anything official from the Kraft Sports Group, Team Envy, or the CDL, but with the 2022 season expected to be kicking off sooner rather than later, we can likely expect to hear more about this report soon.
