Rumour: The Splatoon on Switch is not a sequel

When we saw Splatoon being played on the Nintendo Switch in the reveal trailer for the console, some speculated that it may be a sequel to the colourful shooter, however, insider Laura Dale's latest claims would indicate this is not the case.

The Splatoon game we saw in the trailer is said to just be a new version, not a sequel. It will however include a few changes, including a 1 versus 1 mode where two players on separate Switches can fight over a map, switching their weapon of choice at will. There are also plans to bring new single-player content, but she doesn't have further details about that. Splatoon will be included in a more expensive version of the upcoming console.
