Sega has announced that they are preparing a nostalgic bundle of some of their old games to be released on the Nintendo 3DS in the form of the upcoming Sega 3D Classics Collection. The titles that are going to be included are as follows:
• Power Drift
• Puyo Puyo 2
• Fantasy Zone II W
• Sonic the Hedgehog
• Thunder Blade
• Galaxy Force II
• Altered Beast
On top of these, there will be two "bonus games" that will presumably be unlockable content for playing through the others. The games in question are Fantasy Zone II and Maze Walker (which originally used SegaScope 3-D glasses for Master System).
This is exciting news for some, as Power Drift and the very addictive Puyo Puyo 2 were never released outside of Japan while Maze Walker and Fantasy Zone II are making their 3DS debuts.
It's important to note that all these classics have been reworked to fit the 3D effect feature of the handheld. Sega 3D Classics collection is available for pre-order now, and will be released (in America, with European launch still TBA) on April 26 at a budget price, both at retail as a single cartridge or on Nintendo eShop as a one-title download. But if you buy the physical boxed version, you'll also get this retro-inspired cover by Pokémon art director, Ken Sugimori:
