Team Meat recently announced that the upcoming two-button platformer sequel Super Meat Boy Forever will not be releasing in April as planned. The reason for this is that developers have been overworking themselves. The post explained it with different words, though: "We could have sacrificed our minds, bodies, and social lives to make April 2019 but that's stupid" and with recent reports on developers on other projects hitting a wall of exhaustion at work, we have to say we agree. Sacrificing one's health for a deadline is, indeed, stupid.
The delay does not seem to mean that the game is very much further off than before, however, with Team Meat stating that Super Meat Boy Forever will be launching "After but not too far after April 2019", so don't fret.
Super Meat Boy Forever will release on PlayStation 4, PC (via the Epic Games Store), Switch, Xbox One, iOS and Android.
