Developer Stoic and publisher Versus Evil have just announced that The Banner Saga 3's Eternal Arena mode will be arriving December 12, and has just entered beta testing. The Arena mode was one of The Banner Saga Kickstarter campaign's stretch goals, which they reached in no time at all.
In the new sandbox mode you can customise maps, enemies, and rules to create unique battles, as well as participate in weekly tournaments to rise among the ranks on the global leaderboard. You can also play with all the characters, enemies, and battleboards from all three Banner Saga games.
"The Banner Saga 3 Kickstarter allowed Stoic to increase the scope, fidelity and production values of Banner Saga 3, and the Eternal Arena represents the final Stretch Goal promise with a mode that will allow its fans and backers to fully explore their tactical whims," said Steve Escalante, Versus Evil General Manager, in a press release.
