The Overwatch League has been on a bit of a hiatus as of late, as the esports league has been in its midseason phase, meaning teams and players have been taking a break following the conclusion of the Midseason Madness tournament that the Los Angeles Gladiators won.

But now that the league is returning later this week when the first week of qualifiers for the Summer Showdown starts, we're seeing some last minute roster changes from teams. Specifically, this comes from the Hangzhou Spark, who has announced that it is parting ways with tank player Jia "LiGe" Chengjie.

"After joint communication and negotiations, we have recently parted with our player Chengjie "LiGe" Jia in line with Overwatch League regulations and terms," stated the Spark. "We appreciate everything LiGe has brought to us and wish him all the best in his future endeavours."

How the Spark will fare without LiGe remains to be seen, but we'll get that answer when the East division teams return to play a week after the West division teams, on Friday, August 19.
