The Long Dark, one of the more well known early access survival games, has finally left the constraints of Steam's pre-release system and has officially launched on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in the US, with the European console release coming next week. Unfortunately, there seems to be some widespread issues.

Across Steam, Twitter and Reddit, many users are complaining about crashes and game-breaking bugs on the Wintermute story mode. Here is one Reddit post of many complaining about the crashes, while one Metacritic user said the game crashed 14 times during Episode One alone.

Personal experience as we play through it for review indicates that these are not isolated experiences; we have experienced five crashes in just the first episode of the story alone (usually when leaving/entering buildings).

Keep your eyes peeled for our review in the next couple of days, but early impressions don't seem too positive for Hinterland Studios first release.
