Mojang's Minecraft has been a giant success in the world of video games, with toys, books, and more expanding the brand's influence, and now we know when we can expect the official Minecraft film, as the developer has revealed that it's coming on March 4, 2022.
This puts it at just over 1,000 days away, as Mojang told us, who also say that "making a live-action, full-length feature film is really complicated!"
The film will tell the story of a teenage girl and a group of heroes, with an Ender Dragon setting out on a path of destruction. Naturally it's the heroes' task to save the Overworld from chaos, and director Peter Sollett will be bringing this story to life, alongside Warner Bros.
Mojang also emphasises that this project is being made for the fans, despite some differences with the game that come from moving the series into the world of film.
