Call of Duty: WWII was a big success for Activision and Sledgehammer Games, but as with every year, questions have been raised about what's next for the franchise, which according to a new leak may well be a sequel to the Black Ops line of games from developer Treyarch.

This leak came to us on Twitter from Marcus Sellars, a journalist known for his reliability, who says that Treyarch would still be in charge of the series and could launch the title at the end of the year. The big surprise with this leak though is that it claims the game will be available on all current home consoles, including the Switch.

This Switch version will allegedly support DLC, HD Rumble, and motion controls, with this specific version also being handle by "a company which is familar with COD games"... whatever that may mean.

It's no secret that Nintendo has been struggling to please hardcore gamers for almost a decade, as even though Call of Duty: Black Ops was released on Wii and Wii U, these versions didn't really convince the players.

It's also important to note that Sellars claims the new game is still "boots on the ground," so if he's correct then it seems we won't get a return for jetpacking as we saw with Infinite Warfare, but will instead be a continuation of the design philosophy reintroduced with WWII.

Do you want this rumour to be true?
