WePlay! and Epic Esports announce $550,000 Dota 2 tournament

WePlay! and Epic Esports have joined forces to host a Summer-long Dota 2 tournament, which has a grand prize pool of $550,000. The Omega League is set to commence August 1 and will see some of the world's best Dota 2 teams go head-to-head.

The competition is set to be made up of a European division and a combined Americas/ CIS division. WePlay! is said to be handling the English broadcast of the competition and RuHub will be in charge of its Russian counterpart.

Mark Averbukh, representative of Epic Esports Events, said" OMEGA League is a unique product. We are extremely thankful to the teams and our partners at WePlay! for working together on the vision of what an Online event can and should be. We hope that this event will set the benchmark in the level of production and provide the fans many hours of premium content".
